Wheels are added and a final check made on suspension geometry, in the certain knowledge that everything else is already right. The new Mangusta is given a road test anyway, just to prove the point.
The Rototop's electrical system, including it's essential position sensors, is fitted, adjusted and tested until it works flawlessly. The efforts of the men assembling the body at stage 6 are appreciated here.
The pre-painted doors, hood and front wings are fitted. The hood is bolted on in the open position, because at this stage the latch receives final adjustment.
Front and rear bumpers complete the Mangusta's memorable profile. The removable roof section is added and checked for an airtight seal. It always enjoys one.
A jig accurate to fractions of a millimeter ensures perfect positioning of the Rototop rear roof, the screen surround and the one-piece rear wing moulding. Critical positioning of these elements ensures the accurate sealing and operation of the three-stage roof.
The complete galvanized steel chassis is delivered from local specialists Vaccari & Bosi. Sound insulation is fitted in the factory and all joints are sealed.
The wiring and all the Mangusta's special connectors are finished. The complete 4.6-liter V8 engine and transmission assembly, delivered from Ford as a ready-to-run unit, slots straight into place.
Fuel tank, differential and exhaust system complete the powertrain. The fully equipped facia, supplied ready trimmed by Visteon Automotive Systems, is bolted in place and wired up.
